Find out what kind of hardrive it is and go to their site. most manufactures have a utility that may correct the problem....or tell you it's screwed, and if it's under warranty give you a return number........

Are you sure that you have bad sectors on the Hard Drive? Are you getting error that tell you that, or are you basing it on the size of the hard drive? Technically, a Gb is 1024 Mb. However, many computer manufacters will use only 1000 mb instead of 1024 for a gig. So while the box says "80 Gig hard drive" on it, Windows will only see it as 78 gb. (80,000/1024 not 1000). So an 80 gb hard drive list smaller that 80 gig in Windows.

If you are sure that the drive has bad sectors, the only way to (possible) reclaim those sectors is to back up everything and then fdisk and reformat the drive. If there are bad sectors, the fdisk or format will tell you how much. Often an fdisk will fix bad sectors and you can use the whole drive safely again.

If the fdisk and format can not reclaim the whole drive, it is time to replace it.
