You must first address why you are depressed.
Once you've done that, take steps to overcome it. Go to your local hospital and look at the new babies. Go to the library and check out books about pregnancy. Share the news with those who love you. Go online and look at baby names. Talk to other friends who have used OB/GYN doctors and get some recommendations.
Revel in the beauty of becoming a mother, dear one.
I wish you peace for you and your new little one.

As much as I wanted a child, I too found it a little difficult in the beginning. The first 3 months for me were the most difficult with all of the changes the body must go through to accommodate the little gift inside. With the approval from my doctor, I continued to attend my aerobics program and it helped so much to combat my temptation to be depressed. Also, if you can stomach the prenatal vitamins it will help get the necessary b vitamins that give you a boost. I found the synthetic ones made me ill so at the recommendation of a homeopath I took Catalyn (whole food vitamin) and Norwegian Fish Oil for the Omega 3 which is also good to fight depression(also post partum) but importantly good for brain development in your fetus. If your desire is not to raise a child, there are a lot of areas for support. Your doctor can advise you or visit your local family planning clinic for help with your decision. Best wishes to you in whatever you decide. If you can hang in there, there is nothing that compares to being a mom. Especially when you're rewarded with that little "I'm so happy to see you" smile every morning.

I am not trying to be mean hun' but here is a good way to get over your depression. I have in the past year experienced 2 miscarriages....One at 5 months and the other 6 weeks. It really puts you at a loss of words when you lose a child. Be happy and try to relax, nervousness durning the first months is common and I was also nervous with all 3 pregnancies. I have a 9 year old daughter. Keep your chim up and be happy that God has blessed you weather planned or not planned :)

It can be overwhelming at first to know your going to bring a child into this world and that you are going to be a parent. Hang in thee, and just keep consintrating on the good things in your life. Be normal and go about your life as usual but without any drugs or alcohol.
Get in the mommy mode- go looking at baby things and even start buying a few things-booties and onsies and start preparing for the arrival just a little at a time and enjoy this blessing.

assuming that you are old enough to take on the responsibility, this thought always helps me, "how could a baby be anything but a gift from God"......regardless of whether you keep the baby or not........I think the lady is right about hormones raging around......as time goes on, if you still feel depressed, get some help.......that little baby inside senses your joy or your sorrow (without being too melodramatic!!)

Hormones are normal during pregnancy. Take ten minutes every day to forget every thing on your mind, daydream, meditte, read a book, go on a jog, etc.

Discuss how you feel with your obgyn, he or she will help you through this. These feelings are common. Just don't ignore them. Get help either thru your friends and family or again talk with your doctor. Best Wishes
