Hello Nico
Once again, to be fair, this is only what one half of the duo has to say in way of an explanation. So we really can not know for sure if in fact this is what was said or all that was said.
As a side thought though, why is he voicing this now and not prior at the hearing. He seems to have conceded at the FIFA hearing but is now claiming otherwise. I think we must accept that we will never know the real facts, but that will not stop their fans believing one or the other.

Well, the link does not open properly but u see Materazzi himself admitted that he insulted Zidane's sister. After persisitent shirt pulling by materazzi Zidane said that if Materazzi wanted his shirt he will give it to him after the match. Then Materazzi said that he would prefer Zidane's sisters shirt!!!!(what a rude thing to say) Sure Zidane overreacted but insulting someone else's sister is not a good thing to do. After all Zidane never insulted someone else's mother/sister etc.

hi nico, i assume you mean well. elevating your team by stepping on others is a perfectly human reaction, don't worry about it. besides, it doesn't really affect us zizou fans, we think he's still the best no matter what. if materrazi feels he has to speak on this issue just before the match, that's his prerogative. would just like to remind you though that when he first came out, his story had a slightly different spin to it so maybe he changed his mind, right? still all within his rights to do. but zidane has said his piece, too, in public and i trust with fifa, and i'm inclined to give more credence to that. sometimes credibility is a matter of being consistent, too. hope marco realizes that the next time he goes explaining himself. cheers!

He lies. Why would someone like Zidane, 33 years old, playing a world cup final, respond to something about his sister. It was something racist, and Zidane's too humble to come out and make a big fuss about it.

Zidane was wrong for headbutting him (but i'm gald zidane did it..;p) but that sucker shouldn't have provoked zidane in the 1st place..obviosly Materazzi is a BIG fat liar..he previously said thet he said nothing of zidane's family..but in the article he admitted saying something bout zidane's sister..Maroc "liar" Materazzi definitely deserved the ban..

the reason why materazzi got head butt by zidane is this: MATERAZZI INSULTED ZIDDANE"S SISTER. materaazzi said that he insulted zindane sster. when zidane said you can have my t-shirt afeter the game, materazzzzi said, i would prefer your sister.

MATERAZZI IS ONLY HURTING HIS TEAM WITH ALL THIS BULL BEFORE THE GAME!!!!! IT ONLY AGITATES THE FRENCH TEAM AND THE CROWD WHICH MEANS THAT THE ITALIAN DEFEAT WILL BE EVER MORE HUMILIATING.
WHAT A %#^$## P@@@ PROVOCATOR. I GUESS ONE HEADBUTT DIDN'T TEACH HIM A LESSON.
HE NEEDS ANOTHER ONE.
