Step 1: Multiply the fraction by 100.
Step 2: Divide the new numerator by the denominator.
Example: Change 6/17 to a percentage.
6 divided by 17 x 100 = 600 over 17 or 600 divided by 17 = 35 or 35% .

I'm sure the procedure has changed since I was in school, but if you just want an answer try this: Multiply the top number of the fraction by 100 and divide it by the bottom number of the fraction. ie; 7/8 would be 700 divided by 8 or 87.5% 2/3 would be 200 divided by 3 or 66.6%........or at least, that's how I do it..If you chose to divide the top number by the bottom number and move the point 2 places to the right, you should get the same answer in %. (be sure to add the % sign) I hope...I hope.

7/8 means that 7 parts of something if that something is divided into 8 equal parts.
Percentage is also similar to that, x parts of something if that something is divided into 100 equal parts.
for, among 8 parts 7 parts = among 100 parts (7 * 100)/8 parts = 87.5%
In short, (fraction * 100)% is the solution.
So 2/3 = (2/3)*100 % = approx 66.67%

The conversion is simple:
- Peform the actual prescribed operation (in this case, division)
- Multiply your answer by 100 (to convert to percentage).
First case 7/8
- Perform the division 7/8 = 0.875
- Multiply by 100 = 0.875*100 = 87.5%
Second case 2/3
- Perform the division 2/3 = 0.667
- Multiply by 100 = 0.667*100 = 66.7%
Good luck
