I think they are usually more dark than light. Is that true? (Not that it matters, just wondering)

But is it very rare?

It all depends on your heritage (yes, you are white, but are you a darker white, like olive skinned) and how dark he is. At first, the baby will look white, it will take a few days for the pigment to fully develop, so don't freak out when the baby is first born. My cousin is fair skinned, and had a daughter (she's 6 now) with a dark-skinned black man, she is a beautiful light brown color. (I know I must sound really racist right now, but I swear I'm not lol)
I hate talking about color, but you asked, so...

Oddly enough, your child could turn out to be black or white, or the usual mix of both. I have seen before where a woman had twins with a black man, one was white and the other black. It's all in the way your genes match up. I wouldn't be surprised if you had more than one child, with their color slightly different than each other.

if and when a dark skinned person and a light skinned person have children the children can come out any shade in its ancestry! from darker than the dark skinned parent to lighter than the light skinned parent (as long as some one some where in the family tree {even 100 years ago was that shade) and they can be any shade between the two sides.

most of the time when a dark and a light person have children each of there kids will have totally different skin tones! and this is normal.

my husband has dark native American skin and I have lighter skin (native American too but much lighter) and our kids all came out with different skin tones. One don't even have any signs of having native American skin. (there are many other things in us of course)

so you see it has no standards

offspring of any creature human or not is a combination of all its parents ancestry and can be born any where in the spectrum of that ancestry!

particular. Even 2 curiously black mothers and fathers could have a white newborn if the right genes are there. they might probably have recessive genes that tutor with the aid of interior the youngster that weren't shown interior the mothers and fathers. it fairly is not great common through fact many of the dominant characteristics are going to be issues like Black hair and brown eyes yet particular, it rather is possible. seek for Mendel's genetics to get extra of a proof on the way it works :)

I think its defiantly possible, it really depends on the mothers genes. Rather or not they are recessive or not. My friends daughters are white as a ghost, and the daddy is Mexican and very dark.

Yes it is possible. A lot of people think that african american genes are dominate but it isn't necesarily true, look at Mariah Carey, I wouldn't think she is a mixed race. I have even seen and bi-racial baby with red hair and neither parent had that, wierd, huh? It is probably more common than you think, thank god for paternity testing for some mothers...

Well, a couple where both the man and woman were mixed black and white had twin girls, and one girl was black and the other was white. So, I'd say anything's possible!

It really depends on the genes. Many black Americans have mixed ancestry, so a lot of variations are possible.

yes but it is super unlikely. have you ever heard of the cases where a woman has twins. she is white and the father is black and she ends up having a white baby and a black baby
