There are immense amounts of porn out there, especially on Internet. However, the federal government hasn't done much to curb the increase of pornographic materials.
Some say, porn is fine. Some say porn is evil, corrupts people's mind and therefore should be abolished. In the U.S., there seems to be more people who favor pornography as it is sex-saturated society.
Do you guys believe pornography will ever go away? Should we at least show some efforts to curb growth of pornography so we can prevent more people from becoming a porn addict?

Very simple answer = pornography will never go away as long as human beings are sinful by nature.... not until we reach heaven.

What's wrong with the girl above me? I don't understand. Porn isn't addictive for everyone. I guess for some people it is, but I think it is probably uncommon that porn disrupt people's social, family, or work life (which is what usually defines addiction) - I'll do some research to check. This person above me thinks that only men watch porn? That is insane. Women watch porn too - I like to watch porn once in a while. Masturbation is normal, and I sometimes find it is easier or more fun with a little porn. I like to watch porn with my boyfriend too. However, I don't watch porn at work, or every day. Most people are too busy to watch porn for hours on end everyday. And let's get another thing straight - porn with underage participants is illegal. There is nothing wrong with watching two consenting adults have sex on TV. They're getting paid for it, and they are professionals. Let them do their job, so other people, even married couples, can learn from it and spice up their sex lives a little. There is nothing wrong with having a healthy sexual appetite. I think if you are that afraid of porn, you should probably seek some counseling.

So to summarize...this is 2006, we have these things called microwaves and computers, women can work, there aren't separate facilities for black and white people, and women like porn. Where the he.ll have you been? Welcome to liberation!

P.S. one of the few people who agrees with you is in high school - does this tell you something? Remember when we were really young and the opposite sex was "icky!!!"? Then we grew up. Same with porn.

Unless you see people going out and killing others because they watched porn then probably not.
I dont agree with porn but honestly as far as adults go there is no harm in it being around. Some people need it to kick start their sex drive.
I wish they would ban it from the internet though. Only allow it in video stores in a room for adults only. To many children get on here and can pull it up in 5 seconds. I feel that is completely wrong.

Well no. But iI read the answers you are getting and have to laugh. Porn does have its place. I grew up in a conservitive family and if it was not for porn ( I prefer Sexually Explicit Material) I might not know as much about giving and receiving pleasure as well has I do.
A lot of people that say they are against also say they never masterbate...Liars!!
Anyway that fact is ....porn that should be banned is banned..Child porn ,snuff films and such are banned.
As for the amount that is out there and the ability for kids to see it on the net..Password protect all your pcs and instead of used pcs as a baby sitter to keep them out of your hair spend time with them and wen the time comes talk to them and give them a modern copy of the one of the oldest " porn" known to man...The Kama Sutra...and just maybe you shoud read it too! And practice SAFE SEX!!

I just answered another question about the laws here in America. That's the whole crux of the situation. Freedom of the press and freedom of speech. The only way we can get porn out of the public view, is to pass a law against it. Unfortunately it is a moral law and some say without this in it, freedom is gone. I don't agree at all. I think there should be stern laws against porn. It serves no purpose what so ever except to perverted people who we put in jail when they are caught. Pedophiles is just one form of what porn can do and perpetuate.

I hope it doesn't, what would the people who can't find anybody because they aren't the best looking and don't make a lot of money do without porn? I seriously think that porn is a good thing for some people, and if you don't want it don't look at it, plain and simple

First let me point out for our Australian friend, that nearly 100% of serial murderers are products of female headed families. Sad, but true, and the truth is not changed by name-calling nor denial.

That said, on to porn. A problem here is that the word "porn" is too widely used. For example the anti-porn groups include the Playboy centerfold as porn the same as some horrid disgusting exploitative sex type of porn.

The naked beauty is a basic male drive. Women are seduced by soft words, by romantic words. So, women read 'romance' books, sometimes called bodice rippers or burning loin books. If you read those things, they are rather disgusting. Yet, women who rave about porn don't seem to realize those books produce the same emotional and inner sexual response for women, as naked women do for men. Yet, women don't march and protest against female porn. More of the sexism which permeates our society.

Men don't respond to words. They are turned on by vision. Show them a scantily clad or naked woman, and it's the throttle to the floor!

So, men will pay for pictures of naked women, or pay in bars to see naked women, but especially women who take off their clothes in a seductive manner.

So, how many of you married women have ever done a strip tease for your husbands? Why not? Don't tell me it's immoral, because it isn't. There are books that tell you how, and just from reading them (I gave my copy to my daughter when she got married, with a comment that the best things in life for a man are free, she took the book with thanks) I can tell you it works. You don't have to be a sexpot to get your husband's attention. The techniques have been perfected over 1,000's of years. We men are really simple creatures.

So, he's gotta' look at a magazine for a picture of another women. Good job!

My nephew in Mexico City pretends to fix computers, though he's somewhat helpless. It has to be frustrating to have to ask an uncle over 60 years old to help you out on simple problems, hee, hee.

But, once he had a laptop to 'fix'. I was digging around in the cache looking for a specific problem, and there were some cached pictures that I saw, and thought, "WTF???"

I asked him, "Is this what they call porn?'

He looked and said, "Yes."

I said, "How can anyone get addicted to this stupid stuff?" They were doing really stupid and childish things to each other. Gross!

I agree. Porn is a horrible thing. The thing is is that the government cant pass laws or anything because the internet is too vast. At my school last year we had a presentation done about it and how bad it is. More schools should do that program it is called Aim For Success. You should offer this at any school. I will be a virgin and never look at porn bc of that program. I believe u are right. I am young and already am againist porn. It degrades women like the music now days. I boycotted rap bc of it. :)

CHILL OUT HONEY, its a persons right and if you weren't all dried out you wouldn't complain, beyond the fact that you should be glad you live in USA ,where People still have a choice because then you wouldn't be able to the slim chance to have someone interested in looking at porn and looking at you in a different way

Not as long as people continue to buy it.

The govt cannot censor it because it falls under the category of protected speech. At least until it crossed over into obscenity.

Some people want to move the line, based on their own personal or religious standards. But since we haven't (yet) become a theocracy, religious definitions are not applicable in a court of law.

Porn bad or good.
Your right to have free speech--bad or good
Your right to purchase to read (or not)--bad or good.
Your right to choose what you do with your life and not have someone else dictate where you go and what you do?--bad or good.

Porn--like it or not is a demonstration of free speech. Regulated is fine to promote common decency. But to outlaw it or ban it is just as bad as outlawing The Washington Post for publishing the original articles that brought down the Nixon Presidency.

The "moral majority" has a very valid point. But is it enough of a valid point to overturn the Constitution of the United States?

Read your Constitution--It is yours. Men and women have died to preserve the right that you can have these choices and you are not ruled by others.

You may or may not believe in "porn" but I believe you do believe in free speech such as in these continual "blogs".

I believe in free speech and what our founding fathers helped create.

Do you care to read the Constitution? Paste the below link...The preamble itself is enough to get to anyone.
This is ours--and your opinion I value just as deeply
