I've been on the patch for 6 mos. and I am going to start on Alesse.
When is the best time for me to take it? I heard at night reduces nausea.
Can I start in the middle of my cycle or do I need to start the Sunday after my period/first day of my period?
If I take the patch off on my period week and then start taking the pill on Sunday night instead of putting a patch on, do I need to use backup birth control so my body gets used to the pill?

How do you remember to take it? I'm just scared I will forget and then have to use backup and condoms aren't that reliable apparently.

i think you should take it after the 7 day break from the patch. it's like putting the patch on, instead taking the pill. for me i take the pill every evening at 9. i always have an alarm(in my cellphone) for the same time so incase i forget. as for back up method, look for the instructions with the pill. i think you don't need back up since it's both hormonal method, but to be sure, have back up method for a week.

If you take the patch off the week of your period start taking the pill the day after you take the patch off and you wont have to back up. Take it at night and put it next to your tooth brush it helps remember. Because you are switching from the patch to the pill you probably wont have nausea so you can take it in the morning if it would be easier for you to remember.

I think you also look into the class action lawsuit against the patch that is going on.

A friend of mine got real hurt from the patch and she was actually a huge fan of it until this happened to her.

Apparentely women are getting blood clots, heart attacks, and even dying!

I've put her site as a source below so you can read her story or contact her with more questions. Hope this helps, just want you to know about the dangers of the patch.
