I am 53 yrs old & distinctly remember the red, yellow,green patterns I saw as a child when I closed my eyes at night to sleep. About 20 yrs ago I read an article that addressed this & was shocked to find that someone else had experienced the same thing. Regretfully, I did not save it. Have you ever heard of this? As a child, I thought everyone saw the same thing, but learned much later that this was not so. After 50 years, I still can remember the colorful images. No, I'm not delusional. I'm serious.

yes. they're called phosphenes, and everyone, so far as i know (perhaps even the blind) gets 'em.

Yes i did as a child and now when I'm 43. I close my eyes real tight. I think it is small blood vessels that you see behind your eyelids. Heck i dont know what it is but i see them. I'm not crazy either-nieceofmissourifats@yahoo.com

Yup, sure did. I used to see them with my eyes open too, bouncing around on the ceiling, i don't anymore though. sad eh? I'm sure i read an article on it too, someone claiming the little lights were angels...pah.

i remember that too...sometimes i still see them, i think as a child yuo are just so much more in tune to every sense, i used to lay in bed and watch the light patterns form and chnge into worm like shapes....i almost forgot about that....

I'm 41 and can still see things when I shut my eyes. Not real pictures, just things.

I did too. It's probably normal and caused by looking at a light or something bright.

I still see them sometimes and I'm 32. I thought everyone did.

sure did! and i could even make them go left and right...sometimes i even saw balloons...red ones and a red car!
my brother and i would "play" with this little dots of colored light many a time!

i did too. i would see outlines of things and little shapes. i always thought it happended when i closed my eyes to tight.

i saw them too - but i never heard anything about anyone else having that happen too
