I know how big they are SUPPOSED to get, but curious as to the sizes they reach when you keep em at home in a tank. Let me know. Also, if you can tell me how old they are or when they reached full size, that'd be cool, too.

My RES is about 4 years old and is 5 1/2 inches long. He currently lives in a 29 gallon tank, but will be getting a larger one soon.

My good friend has had her RES for about 14 years. From memory (I just saw Leonardo - the turtle - yesterday), I'd say it's about 10 inches? She lets him walk around her house, and he usually falls asleep with her family's shoes lol.
The tank she keeps him in is pretty big, and for cleaning purposes, she just fills it until its over his head, and lays gravel sparsely over the bottom.
My RES isn't a year old yet, and it's only 3-4 inches lol.
