Hi. This one is simple. If you have a circle, ANY circle of ANY size, there is a relationship between the outside and the diameter. The outside, called the circumference (but don't get hung up on the name) is the "C" in your equation. A line drawn through the circle that passes through the center is called the diameter. The distance between the center and the outside is called the radius. In your equation, the "r" is for Radius. You need to multiply this by 2 to get the diameter. There is a special and useful number called Pi (pronounced "pie"). This number, rounded off, is the 3.14 in your equation. Pi times the diameter equals the circumference. ALWAYS. So your formula says "The circumference equals 2 times pi times the radius." You will also see "C equals Pi times D" and it means the exact same thing. Good luck!

π is what you get when you divide the circumference of a circle by the diameter. The radius is 1/2 the diameter.

In C=1(3.14)r, C is the circumference, r is the radius, and the 3.14 is π. The 2 is to change r into the diameter value.

;-D I hate math!

or
Circumference = pi X diameter
