That's a really good question. Personally, I'd like to invite all the naysayers to take a long trip back. Maybe they'll appreciate this country when they're being persecuted for the way the dress, how they talk, what they say, what they believe, what they look like, for owning property, for not paying corrupt state officials/policemen, for disagreeing with their government, etc. etc. etc.
Then they'll be the loudest ones on CNN cameras asking why America isn't being helpful with food, medical supplies, personnel, and money.

Remember back when you hated the politics of Bill Clinton? Did you hate America, as well? Did you? Of course you didn't. We are people who love America, but recognize that America is not only land and capital, it's also an idea like Camelot was an idea. We remember what it was like to sing "We are the champions, my friends!" and feel it and mean it. What we feel has nothing to do with politics. Hell, I'm a Goldwater Republican that still believes that "extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! ... Tolerance in the face of tyranny is no virtue. " It is the tyranny of King George who writes addendums to laws making himself immune from them and violates treaties as if they are so much fodder and abuses the English language as though proper speech was not a job requirement, corrupts the voting rights of all Americans, etc., ad infititum. This is what we don't like and this is what we will not tolerate. And, Babe, WE'RE NOT MOVING ANYWHERE! GOT IT?

Let me ask you a question. Do you like everything about American politics? Just because you don't like something is certainly no reason to move away. Instead you try and do something about changing it. Our system and laws are not set in stone, they are written on paper. They change everyday. They are supposed to reflect the desires of the masses, or we the people. If Congress allows a stupid law to get through, we let them know by not re-electing them the next term and forcing a change in the law. "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense," etc, etc. This is our Preamble to the Constitution. Notice it says, “We the people”. We run the government, not anyone else. We elect representatives to be there in our stead. If they don’t perform, they will go. If this is ever changed, we will no longer be free. Still, nothing happens overnight. We have to work to make changes.

I think the most beautiful thing about America is that even if you don't like how the government is run or how policies are set or even how the political system works, there are ways to change it. Albeit it can be expensive and difficult. There's this thing called the Constitution that gives the people the right to disagree with what the government or even the majority does and change things.
When you love someone, it does not mean you have to agree with all their mistakes and flaws and wrongdoings, you should tell them what they have done wrong. The same goes for a country.

I haven't changed, our country has changed. I remember when the USA was the greatest country in the world! We were admired for our steadfast adherence to promoting liberty and freedom, our advanced education system, our technology and enginering couldn't be rivalled, we had the best medical facilities in the world and the president had hero status. Now we live in a country where the presidents administration and congress puts strengthening government before the will of the people, other countries, including Canada, regard perserving personal choices and freedoms as the most important act of government. Our public education is a joke, and a business opportunity for the few, we manufacture hamburgers and a few autos. We don't even have national healthcare such as every other industrialised nation. But most of all what has changed is ''our" credibilty, Bush hypocritically tells the world how to live and run their countries when all the while the USA is in turmoil due to his corrupt governing.

Emily E, They like the bennies! Yes, maybe it is more expensive to live here, but the pay is also better. The freedoms beats the h_ll out of anywhere else. Tax wise our rates are much less than most socialist countries. In other words they are in it for the bennies.
By the way if the US didn't consume so much the rest of the world would have less places to sell their products. They'd have less value there might not be economics of scale to produce them.
Maybe they are thinking to go to the socialist countries when they retire. To bad by then the 1st world will be broke as the energy crisis collides with the baby-boomers retirement bill.

Well I just can't pack up and move at this moment.Lol. But you know what is really funny. People will say President So and So was a horrible president. He never did anything good. But as soon as Prez So dies it's a different story. He was the best president with the best programs. If it weren't for him America would be a mess right now.

I know, planet earth is too small for the rest of humanity AND america, but its the only planet we have at the moment, maybe if america just closed its borders and didnt let anyone in or out.....especially out.....and stopped meddling in the affairs of the rest of world, (cos its good for business), then we could all get along just fine.

These sad liberal kids are so young and brainwashed, they actually believe EVERYTHING will be completely different once that evil mad man Bush is finally out of office. Man, are they in for a BIIIIIIG surprise. But, by then, they'll have some other token evil conservative that MTV has chosen for them to lambaste.
