Baking soda can be used to neutralize stomach acid. Put a teaspoon in a 4 oz. glass of water and drink it down. It'll taste disgusting, but it will help.
You don't want to do this if you are on a sodium restricted diet.

Hmm well I know with me sometimes even though Im hungry and then I eat i feel really sick afterwards..never throw up just yucky and nauseous. I think U need to try and stick to having small snacks ever couple hours if u can. Like never let yourself get to the point where ur really hungry but try and munch on my carrot sticks & ranch or fruit..anything u can keep down. Maybe this will help?? Obviously stay away from stuff that will give u acid reflux. I would def. bring this up to ur doctor. And who cares what people say about ur belly size! Every1 is different. People tell me I'm hardly showing and I knwo I can see my belly Im 26 weeks and I already gained 20 pounds. Eat whatever works for u and make sure u are at least taking a vitamin to make up for any nutirents u might not be getting in food.

If baking soda is antiacid, then mayb ok. B careful tho, sometimes the problem is NOT ACID REFLUX s we think. I found out recently it could b due to bacteria - so Cemetidine is 100% effective, get it from the drugstore!

baking soda can be used (instructions are usually on the box. if not - "[as an antacid] mix 1/2 teaspoon in about 4 ounces of water, and drink all at one time. it will cause you to 'burp', as it neutralizes stomach acid the same way it does other acids." - http://frugalliving.about.com/cs/tips/a/blbakingsoda1.htm), but not among those on low sodium diets, and not for extended periods of time (it, being sodium bicarbonate, has A LOT of sodium).

I was on nexium for eight years and it only got worse. I took Kevin Truduea's advice and gave up all drugs, and started taking a couple of tablespoons of organic apple cider vinegar with an ingredient called 'The Mother'. That was six months ago, and even though I stopped tahing it two months ago, my acid reflux has not returned. Maybe you should read his book, Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About'.

using baking soda as a cure for acid reflux (home remedy) will only help as a temporary cure. Acid reflux that comes to you often should be looked at and talked with your doctor, because it could be a serious problem for you.

Baking soda will help acid reflux short term but not for very long. Prilosec, Nexium, etc will last longer.
