I don't know about other people, but I decorate for Thanksgiving.
I have all kinds of things, a turkey for my porch that lights up even a turkey seat and lid cover for my toilet with a matching tissue holder. It's the cutest thing. I love holidays, and I love decorating, so that's why I do it.

i don't know about you but we decorate for Thanksgiving. it is not the same because each holiday has it own feel to it. Thanksgiving is a time of thanks and family. it also a time of when the hard work is over on a farm. you have caned all the food you have killed the pigs and cows and your smoke house is full. you late pumpkin's are ready for pies and it time to sit by the fireplace and crack nuts for the cakes and candies and pies and eat popcorn and lesson to storys about family. and if you are lucky you got to go with the men on the turkey hunt and you have more than one trurkey and may be a deer or two in the smoke house. you are thankfull for the winter months before the planting season in spring. and for all the food in the pantry. and good freinds and family. we alway decorated with hay and pumkins and gords and nuts. picutes of turkeys and pilgrims and indians

I do decorate for Thanksgiving. First I decorate for Halloween with the usual stuff, then when Halloween is over I leave up the pumpkins and put our ceramic turkeys and cornucopias. I have a fall tablecloth and afgans for the couch. I just love the holidays, don't you.

That's a good question. I like to decorate for any holiday. But a lot of people just see Christmas as a time to decorate. Oh, and the guy who sang "Wings of a Dove" was Ferlin Husky. The answer came really quick. Thank you for trying!

Some people do. We start with fall items (hay bales, corn stalks, scare crows, etc). Then we modify it for halloween (ghouly creatures). When that's done, we modify it for Thanksgiving (pilgrims, Indians, turkeys, cornucopias, etc). One set of basics lasts the entire season :-) And that's just the outside. (Can you tell I was a teacher of young children?? Very thematic!)

when i was young we made decorations and things for the table but the remembering of the blessings of life after a hard winter is what the original was for and the christmas thing is about the son of God so its still trumps above the other holidays we made cornucopias and turkeys from differant materials

I think most of us are so busy getting ready for the dinner and putting up the Christmas tree; that we don't bother too much with decorations. Here in North Carolina; we do put out bales of hay, pumpkins, ect. To decorate as a harvest time.

I agree, I think Thanksgiving is overlooked. People should pay more attention to this holiday, Look at Macy's they even have a parade in honor of Thanksgiving ( my fav.parade of all time). Great question by the way.

I do decorate for Thanksgiving. I also make these cookies called
Indian Corn - basically it is the rice krispie treats, but instead of rice krispies I substitute Trix cereal and then I shape them into corn and wrap them in corn husks (dried from the grocery store). They are so cute and so good.

Happy Thanksgiving!
