The problem is that we're talking about *girls* here. Minors forced into sexual relationships with men three times their age. The polygamist group that's been in the news lately doesn't technically "marry" men to more than one wife. None of these couplings are legal marriages in the eyes of the government. These folks aren't going down to the county clerk's office and getting marriage licenses. The relationships are only "marriages" in the eyes of the cult. As far as the state's concerned, it is just a man living with several women and girls, having sex with all of them.
If only adults were involved with this practice, I don't think anyone would care. But when we're talking about 50 year old men with 14 year old girls, it's time for the law to get involved.

Like the man before me said; As long as they were of proper age of consent and adults, then it's a private matter between them. In My opinion the only significant issue is whether or not these are kids or women who are coerced into a multiple marriage or that they cannot refuse without facing the consequences (ostracism).
On the other had you are correct however - if we are just talking about how many people sleep with each other outside of wedlock, or what the ratio of one sex is to another in a household of adults - It's not a matter for legislation and regarding that issue I think Pierre Elliot Trudeau said it best; "The government, has no place in the bedrooms of the nation."

Hmmm I don't know what do you think. I do think i some situations like the say the girls share a room and the guy has his own room it can be very safe for them to not have to live without a guy to protect them. I is funny u brought this up because I myself have just been offered that. One of my guy friends has his own room and is trying to find two other roomates but all his good friends are girls. And he is not the kinda guy that is all over girls and disrespectful.

Do you mean lving with two female rommates? Or two 'girlfriends'? I'm sure lots of trash is talked about the two girls living with one guy. I just don't know anyone in that situation.
