These two topics have recently seemed to be mutually-exclusive. Members of the religious right say that one cannot be a good Christian and be homosexual while some members of the gay community say one cannot be an honest homosexual and Christian. Both of these statements are false and show a good deal of ignorance and fear on both sides of the issue.

Homosexuality is not unique in its status as an issue some people use to justify their hatred and/or repression of others. Throughout the history of this country, the world, and the church there have been other issues that were divisive in nature: anti-Sematism, slavery, and female clergy to name a few.

I don't like homosexuality at all. A true christian isn't homosexual..... i'll give you a few texts from the bible:leviticus 18:22 "homosexuality is absolutley forbidden, for it is an enormous sin.", Leviticus 20:13 "The penalty for homosexual acts is death to both parties. They have brought it upon themselves." So, you can see that homosexuality is not a tolerated thing in Christianity. However, if you repent and turn away from all evil acts (including homosexuality) and you believe in the resurrection of Christ and that he died to save you from your sins, you will be forgiven. If you truly follow the word of God, you will not slip back into your homosexual acts. All sins can be forgiven by Christ, except for one -- blasphemy of the holy spirit. But remember that when you become a christian, you must change for the better..... not to slip into your homosexuality again, and to do good acts for others. Because faith alone is not capable of saving, but the acts of gratefulness and goodness that go with faith can save you if you truly believe in Christ. So, you can be a former homosexual, but you can't be a current homosexual while you follow in the footsteps of Christ by being a Christian.

Yes, you can.

Just like you can be an alcoholic. You just need to be fighting your your problems and trying to get back on track with God's plan for your life. He has the rules to make us happier people, to take care of us.

I know that people "feel" different as homosexuals. And certain lifestyles can seem to "ease" that feeling. But it is a false sense of security... it doesn't bring real peace.

I'm not trying to say straight people automatically have it, or they aren't sinning. We are all sinners. We all have things we need to work on.

I think that anyone can be religious. To be a truly saved Christain: you must be pure. There is no inbetween. Being a homosexual is wrong just like any other sin. Its up to the person to fully change what they have let themselves think and believe, which is not the truth,

I believe that homosexuality of any form is a sin. Yes, you CAN be Christian and homosexual at the same time, but it's sinning.

i know that the bible says what it says about homosexuality but i don't think God will love anyone who is homosexual any less. God is a loving God. human beings are judgemental, not God. so, yes i do think you can be a christian and still be homosexual.

All it takes to become a Christian is to go to a church and put a dollar in the collection plate. It is even easier to become a homo.
