Can you have a continous sexual relationship with a woman for 5 years, and still not love her? How can you seperate your feelings?

For a lot of men sex is like a hunger. You get hungry you eat. You know where to go to get regular food you keep going back. It doesn't mean you love the food just means you are not hungry.

Love is altogether different.

Sorry we are such horrible creatures.

Men are not wired the same way as women. Men can turn feelings on or off with more ease then women. A man can be content with a relationship for a long time if he is comfortable with it. Plus men are lazy, they don"t want to make changes. If a man is getting sex regularly and is having an occasional meal made, he'll stick around like a stray dog.

I'm not saying all men are like this, but definitely a significant %.

I can give some advise, a man might be jerked into realizing his feelings if there is a danger of losing a person. An ultimatum must be made, if there is love he will proceed, if not good riddance.

I'm not a man but just couldn't help not to answer I had a male friend for 8 yrs !! Believe it or not we had an understanding at first he was married and I was single we dated but I didn't really have that love feeling for him years passed and like one of the guys said it's like you know where to go if you're lonely when he didn't have anyone we had each other sounds crazy? But it works he would tell me about his problems i would tell about mine even though it was about out relationship we were in !! We had what you call an open relationship and we were friends.. we discussed being an item but he said we would kill each other!! Meaning we were so much alike it would ruin us ...I don't know exactly your situation but it can happen but of course we have feelings for each other and he cares for me and we are physically attracted to each other but our mind is on a different level I can't explain it but he is my best friend that's a male w/ benefits!!

love is not for everybody. we all need companionship but some dont want the committment that marriage brings. and for the question of how can you not develop feelings, its call putting up a wall and not crossing it. believe u me he feels what u feel just not in the same way. if you are looking for true love then u might want to stop the sex and just be friends which probably wont last long then leave yourself open for your soulmate that might be watching and waiting on you to make the right decission. good luck...

Yes, before my wife died, we had a very powerful sexual relationship and we had been married for 20 years.

I've never done it, so I cannot speak from experience.

There are some men that can separate those two things. I also think there are some women that can do it as well.

I don't think it's common for either sex.

Intimacy is intimacy.

Everytime we orgasm, we feel differently.

When a guy treats a woman like an object, like a door mat, he can wipe his feet on her, kick her and walk all over her. It's easy because she isn't a person, see...she's an object.

I couldn't stay with a woman for five years if I didn't love her. Hell, I can't stay with a woman that I DO love for five yrs.
