Yeah...how easy would it be to become hypnotized? My boyfriend is a big hypnosis fan and wants to try it sometime as a roleplay with me and him. Should I do it? Also if I do it, what kind of stuff can I expect? Also, if anyone here is a hypnotist what kind of scripts or routines would be funny to do? We plan to tape it and post it online, so anything funny would be appreciated. Any suggestions? (hehe pun intended)

This is a great question (well, the hypnosis part anyways...don't know about the 'roll playing' part...lol). My mom went to a comedy club one night and got chosen to get hypnotised. When she went under, they asked her to describe her personality in gestures and she grabbed her crotch and gave the crowd the finger (totally her personality)....Got a great pic of her doing it. I would love to try and get hypnotized but I just dont think I am openminded enough.......

It depends on a number of factors. Some people are easier to hypnotize than others. Also, almost all people must be playing along in order to get hypnotized; if you try to resist it, it is almost certain that you will succeed and the hypnotist's efforts will be useless. However, if you play along with the hypnotist, and they're doing it right, you will probably become hypnotized within about 10 or 15 minutes, although again it depends on the person (and the hypnotist; amateurs will generally find it much harder than professionals, and there's a good chance your boyfriend won't be able to do it). Hypnotized people can be released from hypnosis through a spoken order, but if left alone they will take about 20 or 30 minutes to slowly come out of it, after which they will be in their normal condition.

Reports from people who have been hypnotized describe it as a somewhat strange experience. They are aware, to an extent, of what they are doing, but have no control over it. From what I gather the sensation is quite a bit like being in a dream, only more realistic (because it is real).

It depends on the person being hypnotized. Some people are very easily hypnotized, and others can't be hypnotized at all.

I really don't think hypnosis is something you should attempt yourself. I really doubt that you would be able to hypnotize each other.

Actually just yesterday my mom was saying on TV they explained how to tell if you could be hypnotized.

Fold your hands together and raise your two index fingers so they are parallel to each other. Now look through your two fingers. If your fingers begin to move toward each other than you can be hypnotized.

It is said a person cannot get hypnotized against his will.
