First of all , your trailer furnace is a special furnace just for trailers. Not any will work. You need to call some who is licensed to do work on mobile homes and they will give you an estimate on what it cost.

There are several manufactures that make a furnace that will fit right back in where yours is now, and be legal. If your furnace is a bottled gas furnace, some states require a different license for the contractor that works on those.

You must be careful not to void your homeowners insurance by changing the size, getting a non accepted type, or by having "Uncle Billie Bob's Heating and Lawn care", install it for you.

Just call up some hvac companies, in your area, and give them the size of your home, and they can tell you what size unit you need, and give you a quote. Most mobile homes have a 'downdraft' furnace...that is, the direction of the air goes down thru the floor to the ductwork, under the floor.

If your mobile home is very old, you will most likely find that the new furnace is much more energy efficient than the original... costing you less per month to operate =D

Have Fun!

You have right at 1000 sqft. I would suggest getting a quote on a 2 or a 2.5 ton condenser, with a 75,000 btu furnace. should be in the range of $1500 to $2500 depending on where ya live
