I've not heard any such argument about why George W. Bush should be 'stood behind' (I'm sorry...I can't help but hear echoed the White Stripes last title..what was it? get behind me satan?!)
But...
have folks heard the rhetoric of Katherine Harris, so critical to the 'stand' of Bush, in an interview with a baptist publication, where she claims that if Christians don't vote for Christian candidates they are ...oh...something like "betraying" their religion?!
That was shocking, and maybe reflects at the very least a refusal to back a candidate who wasn't Christian, and maybe that can be taken further to imply that the "more" Christian you are (vocal about it, for instance...e.g., citing "Jesus" as the *political* philosopher you most admire, talking up finding Christ, etc.), the better politician you are according to Harris.
Very strange, and makes me long for the days when the separation of church and state was taken more seriously.

I've not once heard a republican stand up and say "I support George Bush because he is a christian. Bill Clinton is a christian, John Kerry is a christan. I would love to see examples of what you are talking about.

President Bush still has the support of those who elected him mostly. They might not like being in the world we live in where wars and rumors of war occur.

Christians did vote for him because of his political views no doubt.

They will support him but remember he is a lame duck president. If a Republican is releceted to the office of President he/she is going to have to have stand on the issues of today and have ideas on how to fix them

NO, President Bush is a man of principles and he stands
firmly on them and as far as I am concerned, religion has nothing to do with his decisions on how to govern America. I will never cut and run. People with very weak
wills are the ones who cut and run.

... it seems that some support comes from Christians and the other part comes from those who have money that like the tax breaks...

the religious group never really seems to actually pay attention to what he's doing... just watch a speech or two before the elections where he mentions God and that's about all they need...

Ah Ha... you calling other pepole pathetic... that's funny... your questions are usually about on a third grade level with no explanation what so ever...

Never heard such as that. It's because he's strong enough to do what needs to be done, unlike Kerry, who can never make up his mind. He sticks to his guns. Once upon a time I used to vote more along the Demo. party line, but I woke up!

I don't know about anyone elses Bible. but, mine says, "By their fruits ye shall know them."!!! ~ The only fruits displayed by Bush and his cohorts, have been death, destruction, and suffering!!! ~ Some how, I find it hard to believe, that these are the fruits of a true Christian!!! ~ True Christians, everywhere, are repenting, for their support of this evil administration!!! ~ In my town an entire congregation made a public apology!!!

It is he is republican, second came warlike. I think according to law he´s been exonerated of duty out of unnecesary loss during peace time, according to second ammendment and constitution itself: act of indisciplinary action against close fellow of close past times, and overcome of ambition across simpathy manifested.
