When you get to high school, there will be many activites that will need a piano player. It is a great ice breaker and a great way to meet people.

If you go into music, you can always become a music teacher in schools, private stores, or if you become a Mom and want to work part time, you can teach from home.

Many finer eating establishments hire people to play piano during dinner or brunches, there are many dinner theaters, and local thespian groups, and then many cities also have orchestras.

If you live in LA or Manhattan or places with recording studios, they often hire musicians.

There is also music therapy. I know someone who plays piano 2 days a week at 3 different nursing homes as part of their weekly activites, she is not getting rich, but having 4 kids in school, it works perfect for her.

Keep at it and good luck!

I wish I was in your situation. Keep on playing if you like it so much. Eventually you should start writing your own songs. And, even if it's just for fun or a little extra cash on the weekends, you could start performing on stage at small venues in front of people when you get older. There are lots of advantages. To give up something that a lot of people wish they could do would be foolish. Don't waste your talent.

just do it...you'll appreciate it later...i started piano when i was 4 and that just snowballed into 4 other instruments (learning more) and a plethora of opportunities. Piano is the best base in music to have, cause you learn everything...both clefs, dynamics, tempos and rhythms, styles...everything
and are you good at math? if yes, it's probably because of piano...as i said i started when i was 4, and aced AP Calculus junior year of high school, w/ a 5 on the test.
