I've used up all my sick days....so i'm calling in dead.

As a MD of a small company i have heard a few excuses in my time. The thing is, it doesnt matter what u say, its in the way that u say it. I find it much easier to have a happy work force that do not feel the need to take sickies on a weekly basis. Maybe you should find a job u like & wont find it hard work 2 get up in the morning?
Anyhow to answer the question.
An ear infection, 1st'ly dont sound like ur on deaths door (always a sign of putting it on). phone up 1st thing, it implies u have been awake all night. if they ask u no questions tell them u will give them a update in a day or 2. if they start to ask u questions, tell um that u've been up all night & u r really tired, ur so tired that u keep yorning which inturn makes ur ear pop which makes it hurt more which inturn keeps u awake. if they giggle at any point laugh with um & then make a short sharp aowch sound.
its a fantatic excuse & when u go back 2 work put loads of cotton wool in ur ears & pretend not 2 hear people, its the perfect skive!

Start off with you wont believe this and that will work right off the bat..,my little brother..,well not so little now since hes 46..,used to lie so much and be convincing that I think he could sell a sack of manure to a farmer.Tell them you were hanging a cabinet over the toilet in the bathroom and you fell and the cabinet fell on the toilet and broke the toilet tank and the shut off valve and you have to get a plumber to the house asap?Or your dog or cat is puking and has diaherria and couldnt get a hold of the vet last night and need to go.Or how about your car wont start,missed the bus???

otitis media - ear ache..but sounds better as otitis media..a middle ear infection causing extreme pain and has been known to also to induce nausea and vomitting. tell the boss you were at your local ear nose and throat department and was started on ciprofloxacin drops.
