Respect is the primary measure of self-worth. If others respect you, then you are recognized for your worth as a person. If you respect yourself, then you know what your worth is as a person as well... And how much you can do for yourself.

i think respect is being kind and listening to others...and being nice about whatever they are saying to you...respect their opinion and it does not mean you have to do exactly what they say but respect them enough to listen...i think if there was more respectful people in this world this would be a much better world...and if some of us listened at times we probably would not have made some mistakes.....

I am a teacher. I work hard to push my students forward and develop their minds.
Therefore it is showing respect for me and the hard work I do when my students show effort in return.
For example, when students do their own homework, that is showing respect to themselves and their teacher.

It means to treat yourself and others with courtesy and dignity. You should treat everyone with respect, unless they prove that they are not worthy of it. If we did not treat others with respect, then society would descend into chaos.
