Ronald Reagan
Here are a just a few reasons:
- Reagan was declared Lame Duck in 1984 for his inability to get any of his agenda through congress.
- Reagan also committed treason by making deals behind Carter's back with the Iran/Contra in order to make Carter look weak and to get elected in 1980. (this was proven by independent counsel in 1988).
- Reagan's trickle down economics as he called it, never trickled down and put us into a complete recession.
- Reagan was a good motivational speaker... that was the only good thing about him.

Herbert Walker and and the present clown are in a class all their own. America has had a bad president or two, but none to the degree that the two Bush's have done to the American way of life. Like W has said he never stops thinking of ways to harm our country. For that and only that I must say he has done a wonderful job. Many Americans think that Bush is protecting them from terrorism. The terrorism they are referring to was designed and created to keep him in office and the terrorists are U.S. military. When the Bush reign of terror is over and America becomes a peaceful nation once again, then you will understand what really was going on in the early years of 2000. I predict the draft will become effective in mid December 2006. at which time my family and I will gladly bow out of this disaster .

All right, anyone who responded to this with the name of someone who gave televised interviews is a moron and knows zilch about history.
Thank you, to those who named someone before TV was invented, you've raised the bar just a bit.
I'd have to say Harding would at least be up there. Grant is usually nicknamed 'Useless' Grant for a reason, though.

I'm glad someone has studied some history. Harding was a complete disgrace. The poster above has the details and is clearly the best answer to date. You might disagree with Reagan's or Clinton's politics, but they served honorably and did what they thought was best for the country.

Nixon wasn't all that great
Harding (see above)
Jimmy Carter -- great man, horrible president
Ford - no prize
Reagan - generally good but did some crazy stuff (largest deficit increase of any president-- before Bush)

Andrew Jackson. Effectively pushed back the economy by 50 years by killing the national bank.

I am no fan of W or Clinton, but neither are among the worst.
I would say Carter, Harding, and FDR. FDR is a surprise to many of you, but he created the welfare state, later enhanced by LBJ. Also, many of his policies probably prolonged the Depression.

Ok, I may have to go with Carter with the current
But look at Lincoln, he divided a nation, allowed a civil war, that killed thousands and thousands of americans killing other americans ( and you complain about Iraq)
constitutional rights were taken away, people were thrown out of the county for merley disagreeing witht he president.
And in the end of the war, he destroyed majority of states rights

Warren Harding (elected in 1920)
He was corrupt, and he got in trouble for illegally selling federal land, which became known as the Teapot Dome scandal. He also wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed.
