Hi Nathan...tiger cub prices vary depending on the breeder. Prices can be anywhere between $450 on up to many thousands of dollars.
Anyhow, depending on where you live most exotic cats ownership is banned in many areas and is considered ILLEGAL. There are no permits available to circumvent this either. Because these cats require outdoor enclosures your neighbours will learn of them and most likely report it to the authorities, which then US Fish and Wildlife would confiscate them to be destroyed. I've seen this too many times and it's devastating to the families and worse the animals.
Anyone who owns these cats must have a USDA licence and if you were to buy one you would have get this licence from the tiger breeder so this is another way to tract ownership residence. Anyhow, annually animal activists/advocates have been pushing for a legislative ban on exotics in the remaining states who still have exotic pets. When this passes no one wil be able to purchase or own the exotics only existing rescues and zoos will be able to keep the animals as the exception.
Not to disuade you, these cats are not for everyone as they require an inordinate amount of responsibility. If you were able to adopt one here's a long list of things you must consider when taking on this lifetime responsibility: Once adopted you can NEVER, EVER give them away as they bond only to one family for their lifetime. Doing so will destroy them emotionally or worse cause them to starve to death. This means you must have a long-term stable life as well within your family so if you're single and someday will marry/divorce this must be considered. Also you should NEVER EVER have children around exotics as there's the potential for accidents and worse lawsuits not from the accidental injuries/death, but from your neighbours too. You must NOT be able to MOVE either as they rely on territory for emotional stability and security. They need large enough outdoor sheltered enclosures that must be maintained regularly since they spray (even neutered/spayed tigers will still spray), which degrades the metal. Furthermore, their diet must not be anything but raw meat including vitamin supplements so that they don't suffer calcium deficiencies as well as other diseases, which all too common with inexperienced owners.
So the initial cost for this type of feline is the least of anyone's concern as the overall cost in feeding, caring, housing, and vetting is much more than anyone can ever afford.

White tigers are very rare and can cost like $100K from a reputable source and probably more. Other tigers can cost as little as $10K, but then you don't know about breeding or temperment. Normally you have to have special permits and a lot of land and even special cages to keep a tiger. If the tiger ever gets out you have to pay for all the fees that go into catching the tiger and the tiger will likely be killed. The cost of vet visitis, food and other necessitites would also be very high.
Exotic animals are really not good pets but if you are willing to put in the work and responsability then there shouldn't be a problem. It is just a really big decision and a huge investment in time and money.

Unless you have extensive experience in training domestic animals, particularly ones that can be aggressive, i.e. aggressive breeds of dogs (particularly the male ones), stallions etc., I would highly discourage you in trying to obtain a tiger. These animals are extremely unpredictable. Even if you plan to keep this tiger in a cage, it is really not fair to it to have no interaction at all. Even in zoos, the tigers do have a certain amount of interaction with their keepers/handlers. And remember what happened to Roy of Sigfried and Roy. This man is probably one of the foremost experts in tigers and their training and he was almost killed. Please, if you want an exotic animal, pick one that is most likely not going to kill or severely maim you (or a friend).

exotic animals like tigers you usually have to have a license for. white tigers are more expensive also. you also have to have a very large area with the perfect climates and such. and you have to be careful you usually get a tiger as a cub and even if their great grandmother was domesticated the babies still have a little wild in them. last i checked tigers cost around 50k or more, the price zoos pay for them. you would have to feed it around 100 lbs of meat a day you really have to think if you have the finaces for it.

Don't bother to get one the world is full of mistreated exotic animals, that where got as pets. Then when they grow up the owners can not handle them. Leave the exotics in the zoos or in the wild.

Please do not get one. First of all, get your wildlife license, or else it is illegal. And if you are getting one properly then the breeder or refuge will ask for your license or it is a sneaky one. Second of all, it is probably way out of your price range. Well, maybe not but very expensive since it is a wildlife animal. It will range from $5,000-$8,000 for a regular and $8,000-$13,000 for a white. And third of all, you can take the animal out of the wild but you can't take the wild out of the animal. Always remember that saying. Check out the websites below for more information.

Tigers make bad pets, you need a zoo or something to take care of a tiger, and you would not be able to snuggle or anything.

Can't you go exotic like a chinchilla or something? They don't kill you for sport, at least.
