Buffalo, Elk, Mule Deer, Pronghorn antelope,Coyote, Wolf, Skunk, Badger, Red Tail Hawk, Golden Eagle, Falcons, Rough Legged Hawk, to name just a few of the Original ones.
Now who knows, but do know the skunk, and coyote are doing well and good LOL. Elk where originally plains animals and where pushed into the mountains. Black footed Ferret is on the endangered species list, and not many left at all, they depend on Prairie dogs for food.
