How can I tell when someone is logged on to yahoo messenger?

Yahoo Messenger can only be logged on at one location at a time. If someone else is using your Messenger, you won't be able to access it!

Well, you'd have to be logged on yourself to check. When you're logged on, you'll normally see the 'Smiley Face' in yellow with a big smile. However, the person may choose to sign-in to Yahoo!Messenger as "Invisible"; in this case, the 'Smiley Face' would be asleep.

The only way to see if another is logged on is to have them in your buddy list. You must invite people to join and they must accept and visa versa.
