I think the fans are more than ready for a playoff system but the current system appears to be very lucrative for the big schools and they aren't in any rush to change the current system. I would love to see the top 8 or top 16 ranked teams play in a single elimination with 16 playing 1 and so forth. It would take 4 weeks if you gave the top 16 teams the chance to play in this playoff system to get to the final game on the 5th week. I would absolutely love this as the champion would have really beaten the best teams in America. But it very likely will not happen because the current system is making lots of money for the big schools who are always in the bowls and they do not want to change to an alternate system where the monetary rewards for them are unknowable when what they now have is so good for them.

They should take the top 8 teams in the rankings, and make it like the NBA(U no, 1 plays 8). That would be awsome. U can get a rivalry in the season, and the playoffs, Plus there's not as much pressure to go undefeated. U can have 1 or 2 losses and still make it.

I think a NFL style playoff system over a span of 3-4 weeks with each bowl game as a sponsor would suffice. Think of December Madness which precedes March Madness.
I'm tired of objectivity always determining the national champion and the BCS is a load of crap.

yes indeed it is..take the current set of bowl games and devise a playoff system which will account for major and mid major teams. I suggest 8 major teams with a bye first round..supplemented by 16 teams which will play in ..then playoff tournament style..but hey..remember these are college students..one must make time for academics...LOL

Yes, because there are too many undefeated teams that never get a shot at the national championship. No matter the strength of schedule, I think that any no.3 or no.4 team can beat a no.1 or no.2 team. I don't think it is fair at all!

More than ready and well-overdue. Should be a 16-team playoff.
