You really should have the Doctor which I hope was an Orthopedist send you to Physical Therapy. You will need a prescription from them. I have had many surgeries and many bouts of PT. I know what I am talking about. It is foolish to try this on your own. You may cause further damage. You will also not be able to get all the mobility back on your own. A trained PT will help you to re-condition back the tendons, ligaments and muscles as well as gain mobility and will give you Thera bands and other small aids and put you on a home exercise program also. they need to monitor your progress and evaluate you. Don't mess around with anything else, believe me, you will regret it.

Is is not just exercise, it is massage, manipulation and other treatments that you just cannot give to yourself. Plus, the PT can and he/she will make sure you do not do the wrong things and that you do not re-injure yourself. For instance, the PT can properly and without injuring you break down any scar tissue that may be limiting your motion. They will actually measure with instruments your mobility every week. This is very important. They will evaluate you on the first visit and lay out a plan of action. Please be smart and get a pro's help!

If you listen to the advice of non professionals on here who are clueless as to what they are saying, again that would be a huge mistake!

Make sure too that you are treated by a PT and NOT a PTA (an assistant). The PT has more education and experience. Big, big difference!

Good luck, believe me with the right help you will be okay.

You'll have to get alot more specific on what movements are restricted and what type of tissue is causing the restrictions. I'm studying PT right now and I think you should really try to go to a physical therapist to make you you don't cause any further damage.

i would have to agree with those that recommend getting a script for physical therapy.....PT and PTA are trained to get motion back. because there might be more than just loss of strength a trained professional (PT,PTA) should be the ones telling you what to do.

Hi coco32, you can do any kind of exercises which do not give more pressure or weight to your knees. You can start bending slightly, water aerobics, walking etc. Sophie

You can try to do some leg curl but start with the lightest weight, don't want to re injure yourself or you can sit at the edge of a pool and move your legs back and forth slowly.

You should go and take walks, low impact and will get things moving again. You should visit your doctor and have him recommend a PT
