I am sure there is an explanation at the fuller transmission site try rockwell and spicer also. I have driven 2 kinds of 13 speeds one direct one od (overdrive) both made by fuller
The direct was a monster 3 basement 5 mid and 5 high unless i was on soft ground or starting up steep grade i drove it like a 10 spd I spent alot of time in those and they are easy to grind you have to get the rhythm going and forget the clutch until you need to stop
The fuller 13 spd over was much more civilised as far as truck trannys go. Shift through the sequence as normal then split shift the last 3 i think it had the same back hand pattern as the fuller 15 over drive
I hope that helps were you a driver before or just a rider I was out of it 4 years and it came right back to me

In the low range, it shifts just like a straight 10 speed. When you go to high range, you start splitting each gear. One very important difference is that with a 10 speed, you could pre-select your range before shifting. While it is physically possible to do the same with a 13 speed, DON’T DO IT. You will burn out the throwouts very quick if you do.

There is a swith on the shifter that switches from low gears to high gears in the tranny, basically shifts the same as a six speed, when you get to the end of the low gears go to the first spot and while in the "neutral part of the shifting flop the switch to high.

Same as a standard 5 or 6 speed, but less than half the time at each gear.

just drive it like a 10 speed with overdrive. after you topped in 10th, then flip your button to get into the last gear. most trucks now have a diagram to show you the shift pattern.

Well they had 13 speeds back then. How'd you shift then? Road Ranger HIGH / LOW switch?
It all depends on what they are making these days, but I'd bet it's a lot like it used to be.
