Because the roots of the word are so archaic at this point ("napper" used to be slang for "theif" and "kid" referred to a baby goat).
What's more is that the word has seen long use of the word (about 300 years). Logically, in contemporary usage, adultnapped could make sense, but it just sounds ridiculous.
If you really want to be correct about it, just say the adult was abducted. No complications there.

Well, probably so things dont get all comfusing. Like this person was teenagednapped or preteennapped & stuff so they just sum it up in one easy word Kidnapped. (Also cause it is more likely to happen to a kid) & most adults should be able to protect themselves...even if it is kicking the guy in the nuts :)

Simply because that would make seance and their are people in our government that long ago and even now make money doing nothing as well as making up words and phrases that don't make sense, to keep us confused so we don't realize where all our money goes. And distract us enough so that we keep forgetting we fought over taxation without representation, and that is kinda happening in a big way all over again. LOL!
Gosh did no one get this is a thinking persons joke?
