Good point, Christians should be running towards their end with arms wide open. If they believe in heaven why would they not?

First of all...poeple who are afraid of death can not be labled cowards because they would have a hard time actually not going through with death...yaknowwhatimean! But to answer your question...it is in our genes to survive...it is instictual...survival is the strongest instinct to man...so we humans can not fathom the thought of not existing...that is why people really fear death and then go on to create gods and heavens to try and ease the pain of death.

It is not the actual act of death that I am afraid of but rather what will happen to me after I have passed on. It us the great unknown. I also am afraid of leaving people behind that I care for and love. What if there is no one in the afterlife for me or even an afterlife.

so what do you fear?
people have fears. Anyone who doesn't needs mental health support.
about the Cristian thing I use to think that if you go to a better place then why not run to your death. but it is not like that. you use the time you have to help others to the path. the longer you are here, the more you can help others who truely need it.

I know I'm afraid of death because I have no idea what will become of me once I'm dead. I'd like to believe that I'll be reunited with all of my family members and friends who have passed...but I think we can chalk it up to fear of the unknown.

I don't particularly fear being dead. What I fear is the dying process. I, personally, would rather be killed in an instant rather than by some slow, painful process that takes days, weeks, months, or years to the final outcome.
