It is. The reason is very wide and has a lot to do with a diverse group of people.
Starting at the top, the democratic party has been abducted by the socialist left movement in America. How is pretty simple. They have pandered to the "victims" and have used class warfare for years to divide and conquer America, and it seems to be working to some degree. See the link below. The hate bush philosophy is yet another divide America strategy.
The socialists hide behind terms such as democrat, liberal and progressive because they know that to openly admit (see Dean link) is suicide. America does and will continue to reject socialism. They have been overtly supported by liberal media in particular the network news. One of the main reasons for the phrase "vast right wing conspiracy" phrase was that talk radio and cable news were calling a socialist a socialist and they do not want that out.
So let's add them up. Dem party now owned by socialists. Dem strategy of class warfare has worked, just look at who the unions support. Dem ruling elite have poured millions into this effort. Network media has supported this effort. At some point in the near future they will dare to state they are socialists and you know what, America is going to reject them. And will have more and more "hate bush" kind of propaganda wars going on.
So, now what do we do. The republicans have not done as well as they should have while in the majority. We have to tell the Repubs to get their act together or they will be voted out. This is accomplished through massive emails to congress. We have to "out" socialists at every opportunity. Press the media to out them. Let's call it what it is and stop calling it liberalism. We have to vote. We have to press the issue non-stop everyday, because if they succeed socialism will fail, our country will fail and then the ruling elite will take over ALL of the means of production and we will be a communist country.
Now wouldn't you like that comrade.

The Liberals want a redistribution of wealth. The majority of this country, particularly in "blue states" wants to soak the rich. The question is, "What is rich?" Is $50,000 rich? Who defines rich and who isn't? Rich is a matter of perspective. Some might believe I make too much money, so I'd be forced to pay higher taxes to compensate others who make less than me. Is that fair?
It already is happening, but the Liberals want more taxes.
I'm not a Kool-Aid drinker. I realize the Republicans are not being fiscally responsible either. They are becoming Liberal too.
The United States of America was based on capitalism, entrepreneurism, ingenuity and competition. These things describe the American can-do spirit. However, Socialism stifles the great qualities of America.
If Socialism succeeds, the spirit of America will die.

The main idea behind socialism is equal distribution of wealth.
The people of america embrace equal rights for everyone. The difference is the way that is moving towars socialism, the success of this main idea greatly depends on how socialism is being put forward, I don't think the republicans or the democrat will one day achieve this goal, it's simply not possible under capitalism, no matter how many reforms are being passed.

We will only move toward socialism if the Dem's win in November and in 2008. Then they will raise taxes and find something to throw the money at. But we don't really know what they will do as they have not told us any original ideas. I don't know if they can come up with anything new, Roosevelt was their last big thinker.

First of all, do not confuse Democracy and Socialism. Democracy is a political system. Socialism is an economic system. By your question, I see you do not know the difference. By the way, as Europe has moved to be more socialistic-capitalistic balance, the U.S. rapidly moves to a more capitalistic system.

Because liberals have convinced the populace that people with money are innately bad and corporations are evil. Class warfare is just a tool used by liberal ideologists to divide us.

Liberals. But it appears they're losing. The Goverator is going to veto state sponsored health care in California if it makes it to his desk.

Is it? Or is that just another form of republican propaganda?
Try thinking outside the box, it's nice out here.

You assume in your question that we are moving toward socialism. Prove it before you ask. As a matter of FACT, we are not at all.
