I think it's horrible we still have gender inequality these days, shame on all of you!

Because men want to be the breed winner and be the king of their castle. They think woman are not good for anything except sex and cooking.

Because they care about their children. It is not gender inequality- it is difference in the roles of men and women. I don't by any means think that the Man is supposed to control the house with an iron fist. I think that the parents are a team and that each member of the team have different, but equaly important parts. The father's job is to go to work and protect and provide for the family. The mothers job is to take care of the home and nuture the children and only get a job when it is absolutly necassary. It is essentail that children have a mother who's primary job is them.
Get over you womens lib attitude and realize that maybe the world was a better place when Mothers did not work.

Mine says it's because it proves he's a good man who works extra hard and is a good wage earner so I can stay home with the kids and do what I want. But sometimes I think that he's afraid if I had any money, I would use it to leave!

There was a time when most men could support a family without their women having to work. Not to imply that being a housewife is not work. But it just wasn't financially necessary for them to work outside the home. Times have changed. I don't know if it is for the better or not to tell the truth. I do think children are worse off for it.
My mother never worked . And she is very grateful for it. All she ever wanted was to be a mother. She has been happily married to my Dad for 53 years and counting.

Men, like to know that they can take care of their family, and that the woman should be home to take care of the home and children. But, in this day in time it takes two incomes to support a family, and this is sad.This role has been like this for many years, where the man goes out and supports his families needs

I choose not to work while my kids are young. I FEEL PERSONALLY it's my job as a mother to make sure they have me during their formidable years. When both my kids get into school full time I will go back to work but me or their dad will be home when they wake up in the morning and after school. PERIOD

Pride. Some men feel that a real man should be able to provide for his wife. I don't work for that very reason (and because I would never work anyway)!

I think its because it some how hurts their reputation, and it doesn't make them feel like they're the man of the house if their wife also supports them with her career.

Because they are sorry slobs that need to get a life! They are just lazy and as long as the woman lets him get away with it then they are gonna do it! So sometimes the women are to blame for letting them get away with it! Not in my house though!

I don't work. I make my husband breakfast, I clean the house, I run errands, I make dinner, I take care of what ever needs taking care of.
It works for us
