Personally, I can't stand The Killers. But what I think the lyrics mean, in context with the rest of that verse, is that Jesus is supposed to be the epitome of kindness. This person is waiting for the perfect gentleman to come around, gentleman are kind. And even though he doesn't 'look' like Jesus, he behaves like Jesus; kind and gentle.

"You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy to
To save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch it now ... here he comes!

He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentlemen
Like you imagined when you were young "

"He" is the girl in the songs saviour, and she was excpecting a saviour like jesus, but he doesn't look a thing......

You know jesus "our saviour",

Listen a bit more closley next time and it will be clear.

I could be wrong here as i am neither a killers fan or a christian - its just the vibe i got

The next line is something like: "but he talks like a gentleman, like you imagined him when you were young."

So I assume it means that when she was younger, she imagined her ideal mate would look like Jesus and talk like a gentleman...
