you take a look at the video you will see that there is a mother character which interacts with the singer. If you listen to the album version of the song, you will also notice at the beginning of the song a phone message from a mother-type of character. (ie. wondering where he is, if he's ok. etc. and the voice is of an older woman) the beginning of the song talks about the blocking out thoughts of "you". much of the song is apologetic to in the way that he's saying, "leave me so that you can be better off". He talks about leaving so that "you" can be better. from what I can make of it, it's a song to his mother or perhaps someone who cared deeply for him. He's apologizing for the things he's done and is now realizing that he only causes trouble for her, so he's leaving. He has memories of her but ultimately wants her to forget him so that they can both move on with their lives.

It's about a grown man who whines into a microphone so eager teenyboppers will pay his bills. How do I know? The repetitive lyrics, the same old content, standard song structure. No thought put into it, no talented musicians, no point.

I love it, finally you can see a guy, who is not a mama's boy and put her in her place, I like it because you see that almost all guys kiss their mom's ***, as this one doesn't take any Cr*** from her manipulative Mom.
