I would find out a bit more about the practices that your son will be going to during this hot spell. During severe weather conditions coaches usually plan practices indoors with strength training or other things that will help develop the team. Make sure your son has plenty of water to drink and you find out more about the practices. If your son really wants to play and you try to stop him you may regret it later. Remember 1 thing NOBODY wants to see your son hurt. Not you, not the coaches. If you keep him from practice then you may end up the bad guy in this. Find out a bit more about what precautions the coach has put in place to still work with the team and keep them safe from the excessive heat. If you get an answer from the coach like they are football players and 100+ temps should be fine then keep him home and try to find another team for him to play on.

No sorry, but there should be a local league.
My son plays under 8's football with a team in our area. They are in the 'Lune and district junior football league' in Lancs.
They also have tournaments,my partner is the manager.
Check local news papers and net.
Or contact me your area, and I'll ask around.
