For those of you that dont know my problem, my friend was doing my hair, she caught her long nail under my earring and it moved it up really hard.(maybe ripped it a bit)and then I went and cleaned it But right after she did it it hurt and got all red. Now when i move it around in the hole only when i move it up it hurts, because it was pushed up very hard when her nail messed with it. When i pull it down gently or left or right it doesnt hurt. I cleaned it about an hour ago, and turned it (it sortof hurts a bit to turn it) and in my other question someone said that turning it is just making it more 'mad'. Should i just clean it and not turn it all day tomorrow?, or for how long? Or what? When i clean it it kindof gets red and hot (my ears always do that, though even before they were pierced :P LOL ) Should i stop turning it? Should i put ice on it when it hurts? Please tell me what i should do.

I cant take the earring out, i got my ears pierced Saturday, September 2nd, 2006.

Pushing it up is probably re-injuring the hole. I would suggest that you continue cleaning it and rotating it, but would avoid the upward motion. Keep up the process that the ear-piercing folks gave you for keeping it healthy until it's time to take the earring out (the turning is important, as it helps to keep scar tissue or scabs from forming on the post). Maybe give it another week to heal from this injury...From there, you should be just fine.

I'm not honestly sure what the "correct" solution to your problem is. What I suggest is that you should put the cleaning solution on it. Turn it once every 2 or 3 hours. Try to let it sit, aka don't push it up in the ripped area. You want the ripped ara to heal, but it won't if the earring keeps on going up there. No matter what, turn it. I got my ear pierced like 3 weeks ago, and the lady said that no matter what turn it. Otherwise it will grow in one place and hurt even more to turn or take it out. Hope it helps!

If your hair is long, then pull it up to prevent it from touching your ear too much. Turn your earring once, don't move it up (clean your hands before you do this) then don't touch it. You can ask your pharmacist for what kind of antibiotic creams to use.
Good luck

I suggest you wash your earring and your ear with the disenfecting liquid 2 times a day and keep turning it in order to keep it from sticking now that the flesh is damaged. If you dont turn it then your ear will eventually start to SWALLOW your earring. This happened to my cousin and she had to have it surgically removed.

DONT stop turning your earrings. if you stop, your ear could scab up against your earring or something like that then you cant take it out. i got mine pierced last sunday, and i cant turn my left one without hurting my ear. so i spin it until it does work. pull your ear down, left, and right (thats what i did) and it eventually stopped hurting this tuesday. just do that.

Call up a plastic surgeon in your area, get a recomendation. I know normally when a earing gets torn all the way out they can put a tiny stich in. Maybe they can recomend something clever.

Keep cleaning it and turn it once and then leave it alone.
