I'm getting frustrated with this job search. I hear about all these great jobs that my friends have, and I ask them where they go, they always tell me online or in the papers. They give me websites to search, but I can never find anything. I'm wanting to give up on the search but I know if I do, I'll never find anything. What can I do?!? I need help.

Post your resume on the web.

Ask all your friends
Ask all your family members.
Keep sending out resumes to all the companies you want to work for.
Keep searching the internet.
Don't give up.

If you are not finding anything then you might be too picky or you might live in a small town. You can do one or more of the following...

1) Be more flexible in what you are willing to do for money.
2) Expand your search to larger cities. Some companies will relocate.
3) Canvas all of the major websites. Hot Jobs, Dice (tech), Monster, etc.

It's frustrating. I'd suggest going directly to the websites of companies, instead of sites like monster.com. Even the companies websites will give you limited success. Your best bet is to get an actual name of a hiring manager, and try contacting them directly after you've submitted your resume. They are bombarded with resumes and lose track quickly. Try bugging them once every few days -- it could pay off.

While you're sitting around waiting, you can earn a few extra bucks on the internet here: http://www.*************/index.php?ref=82532

Good luck.

Look for Job-Fairs in your area, talk to the local companies that are not advertising for empoyees... perhaps you will get lucky... make up your resume and send it to some prospective employers to put on file "just in case"
