You've written similar questions so I'm not sure you are getting the concept yet. It seems like you are just asking so you can put the answer on your homework.

It's better to learn the method so you can do it yourself... because we won't be there when the test rolls around.

First, you need to know what are prime numbers. They are the numbers 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, etc. which have no other divisors. This means you can't divide them further.

To determine prime factors, start with 2... does that go evenly into 45? No.

Now try 3, does that go evenly into 45? Yes. 3 x 15 = 45.
Remember '3'.

So now we need to factor 15... you don't need to go backward, but see if 3 divides... yes it does. 3 x 5 = 15
So remember another '3'.

Finally you have 5... which is prime, so it can't go any further.
So remember '5'.

So your prime factors of 45 are 3, 3, 5 (3 x 3 x 5 = 45).

But when you have the same factor more than once, simply write it using an exponent. You used 3 twice (3²) and 5 once (5). You could write 5¹, but an exponent of 1 is assumed, so I'd just put 5.

So the answer is:
45 = 3² x 5
