I just moved out. My mother lives in a different school district than I do. I was told today at school (the one where i live) that i can't go there because of where my legal gardian lives unless i can get the other school to waiver tuition. What are my options? I moved shortly after my mother moved to a different school district because i didn't want to switch schools.

Most places you can't legally sign a contract until the age of 21. Some places will accept 18. At 17 you're still a minor and will have a very hard time out on your own.'

when I was 17 I had 2 children lived on my own I couldn't even open a bank account with out a guardian signature there isn't very much you can do about it. Also years later when my niece moved in with us (obviously she was having problems at home) I tried to enroll her in school and the school said they needed a parent or legal guardian to enroll her we had to have proof of it. Unfortunatley that is just the way things are and you cannot even try to change the laws until you are a legal adult, by then it won't matter. I'm sorry I wasn't more helpful. As for getting Emancipated, Even if you are Emancipated you cannot sign up for your own schooling, a social worker has to do it. Because it means that your parents are the government. besides at 17yrs old by the time you went to court to become emancipated you'd be 18 anyways.

You can have your parents sign over your rights. Then ya'd be your own legal gardian. And the school can't kick ya out then, less if they make up something bogas and kick ya out.

Switch schools and stay with your family. You do not think it now but, you will regret it later in life.
