Use a bleach and water mix through a hose end sprayer. This will kill the mildew, and lighten the wood up after a couple applications. I use about 1 cup bleach to 1 gallon water. Stronger if mildew is real bad. Let it completely dry before sealing, or you seal in moisture, which creates more mildew.

Probably the easiest way would be with a pressure washer. If you don't have one then you can probably rent one from a home improvement store. Let the deck try thoroughly after washing, then apply the preserver.

Buy deck cleaner ,some add bleach.Get deck brush , adjitate, then pressure wash with a 15 hp. Maintaince can be done with vinegar water 1/4 c. per gal. water

Use mild detergent warm water and a scrub brush.Try to avoid using a powerwasher on high because this will clean it but it will raise the grain then you get a fuzzy deck..lol fuzzy deck
