When USB 2.0 first came out, it was always marked. If you bought this recently, it probably is.

When you plug in the device, it will probably tell you. In many cases, it will work anyway.

since USB ports are universal does it really matter. as long as the device is working. can't see there's much difference between USB 1.0. and USB 2.0 speed wise it's probably negligible

it will give you a message that a Hi-speed USB device is connected to a non hi speed usb port. This will be the only way that you are plugging a 2.0 USB to a 1.1 USB port. you nac also try this website

Go to My computer and you will see the usb drive ,click on it and you can tell or read what you have put or written to, the usb, is it a keychain or jump drive ?
