How can I convince myself to read a book for school when I really don't feel like it?

Just do it. Think of how embarrassing it is to be called on in class about the book you didn't read. Think about how much it sucks to fail classes. Etc. They're always going to make you read in school, and not just in classes you would expect. (I'm in a college history class right now, and we have to read books from each of the time periods we are talking about.)

Challenge yourself to read for a certain amount of time every night. Make it a competition with yourself. I guess that could make it a bit more interesting.

Also, remember--you could always end up surprising yourself. I read some books in high school that I thought would be awful, and I ended up loving them. (Especially Catcher in the Rye and Slaughterhouse 5, if you have to read those.)

that's like saying "i dont like broccoli. how can i make myself like broccoli?"

if you have to do it, then do it. you dont have to like it.

if it's just reading in general, then try reading things that are more interesting, or more your style.

if it's assigned reading, well, almost all school assigned reading sucks balls until you get to late high school/college.
