i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

I grew up watching him, me and my mom would be like "crickey!" all the time. He did so much for the environment. All in all, he was a great guy, who didn't deserve to die. But he did play games with death many times. I'm having mixed feelings, like "wow, I just can't believe he's gone! is this for real?". I really do miss him. I cried a little. I feel so bad for his family. I just hope Terri and their kids will grow up to help the environment as well(on a less dangerous approach). RIP Steve, you'll be missed.

I am, but i just want to say to other people that post insensitive posts , How would you like to say the things that you have in yahoo, to Steves family, Why don't you ask your questions to Terry, that wasn't there when her husband died, why don't you ask little bindi, Who thought the world of her father, Why don't you ask little Bob? whose first words were Dadda & Mummy?
rest your soul stevexx

I feel sorry for his poor family. I wasn't really fond of the guy, I honestly couldn't hold my laughter everytime a word came out of his mouth, but I feel really really sorry for his poor kids, those kids are gonna grow up without a father and that makes me incredibly sad.

I'm so sad. And shocked!
Honestly, today's news has made me sad in the same way that Lady Diana's death made me sad.
He was too young, and he was a good guy. What a shame!

of all the brave things he's done in his life, I think it was a shame he had to go that way. He will be missed but, everyone has their time. unfortunately, this was his. I hope his kids can get through this tough time, especially his daughter, who i hear is eight right now

Crikey........he was a beut!
Its a shame that he had to die, but at least he died doing something he loved. I hope when I die it can be doing something I enjoy.......
He did so much in only a relatively short life, only 44 years young....its a shame.
The world has lost a great man......

i for my section in no way watched his shows yet i became so unhappy for days. I enjoyed his zest for existence and his enthusiasm for his artwork. i've got faith so undesirable for his spouse and daughters. i understand what it rather is prefer to lose a determine as a newborn and it fairly is dreadfully unhappy. yet whilst he had to die so youthful, a minimum of he died doing what he enjoyed rather of a automobile crash or some thing like that.
