An can of insect killer will kill it in seconds. Hairspray will freeze its legs from moving. Washing it down the drain may or may not get rid of it. But facing your fears is the best. I teach martial arts and am skilled in all different types of styles. I can take a 250 lb man out in 3 seconds, but I am deathly afraid of spiders. I am afraid to get near them. But just a couple of years ago, I started noticing some of them, like the ones that move into the upper corner of my shower. And sometimes they look peaceful, just minding their business. I thought, you know, they are doing me a favor by eating other smaller insects that may get into my home and here I am squashing them. So I faced my fears, held my breath and put them on a piece of paper and quickly hussled them out the door. *Sigh.....relief. And I feel much better that I didnt have to kill it to get it out of my house. Granted I feel like Pee Wee Herman with the snakes in his hand after saving them from the fire in the pet shop. That doesnt mean I am not afraid of spiders anymore, but it makes me feel a bit better about myself. That is my chosen method now.

Gently slide a piece of cardboard under it (try not to cause injury). Cover the spider with a plastic bowl (has to be big enough for it). Then using the cardboard as a lid, take the plastic bowl to the garden and let the spider crawl out. If it is difficult to slide the cardboard under the spider, put it next to the spider and wait patiently for it to crawl onto the cardboard. I have done this with success and I didn't have to touch the spider at all.

Grab your hairspray or ANYTHING spray if u don't have bug killer & spay that spider till he either dies from the fumes or drowns in the liquid. If u try to just wash/flush him down the tub's drain he may just crawl back up. Depends on kind of spider he is I think. Not sure but I know for a fact some CAn come back up that way & in a relatively short period of time. LOL I have spider issues too sometimes, this "killing method" always works. Good luck!!!

Yeah go on kill it and then you'll be asking why your house is full of flies!
Drape the towel over the bath and let him walk out by himself he is probably getting hungry...
Spiders are more affraid of you than, they do a great job around the house. They even build little dust nets all over your lamp shades to show you that the house needs cleaning...arn't they thoughtful?

Don't rinse it down the drain as it will come back up
If you can't handle it the best way is to put a glass over the top of it then slide a sheet of thick paper or card under it then take it outside and let it go.

Spiders can curl up, so getting them down the plug hole will be difficult as they create an air pocket around them. Not only that they are light, so getting them through the U bend will also be difficult. If you are scared of spidies (like I am) then be brave and pick it up and chuck it out of the window. Not only will you be proud that you have overcame your fear but you will be able to reassure yourself that it won't crawl back. Sweet dreams!

Put a glass upside down over it so it can't escape, turn the water on and drown it, then rinse it down the drain.
And tell your BF not to be such a wuss.
Mines the same though - he won't get rid of daddylonglegs and I hate them!
