Of course, the short answer is, the Democrats do this also. Isn't the Obama camp trying to associate McCain with the Bush administration? We tend to believe what OUR party says in advertising, and even will forgive stretching the truth a bit, and smile, and think, well, my party HAS to, just to win. But MY party has ethics and character, the other side, those scoundrels! But there is a longer answer here. It is a posture, taken on by party insiders and their advertising firms and their communications spokespersons, on both sides of the aisle. They use different messages, but, the winner take all approach to politics encourages this type of speech and message giving. It is hard for many to realize that marketing to 110 million voters has different layers and symbols. For example, to take a prism view from the past, had a Japanese American run for office, say in 1938 or 1948, their race would have been so discredited, that it would have been impossible for such a person to win national office. What? You are saying... I am not making a metaphor about race, either. I am stating something so obvious it is easy to overlook. To win, a message or symbol needs to resonate to a huge number of Americans that are the deciding "middle" to win. If this is created by depicting Obama as a radical extremist with unsavory associates, well, who cares? You will say, well, that is immoral! Not really, it is advertising, in the political sense. Perception blends with truth in depicting a candidate in this or that way, and, if it can be used to WIN, then, well, the victory is what counts, not, really, how or why. Do I like this? No, I am describing why this is so. So, Democrats will say this or that stuff about Republicans that are patently false, as, do the Republicans, but, in different ways! It is a year in which Democrtas should win, because, of the Iraqi war, the budget, and general unease about the economic climate we have today. But let me ask you a question. If you believ that Republicans were better suited in holding the white house, and, you were in a position of forming a message and got it released in helping the McCain campign, is it not, indeed, your DUTY to create an Obama persona that is awful and repugnant to some voters? To win, you must ignite the hearts and minds of the electorate. People always complain about negative political advertising, then, at the polls, they will tell a pollster in fuzzy words why they do not like a candidate, and, inevitibly, the words are taken from negative advertising words they have seen or heard. Negative advertising in politics can be effective. It is, simply, the way it works. A few months back, McCain asked Obama to appear with him across the country in informal settings that would comprise a sort of Lincoln/Douglas type debate. Really, this was a potentially remarkable event(s) to occur. Had Obama accepted, the level of discourse would be far different this year. Obama had his reasons, of course, but, it would have been different American politics that we have experienced thus far, without question.

The simple truth is that YOU must be the one taking these drugs, because you are asking a question that shows you are trying to blame Bush for more than he has done.
Bush has not given tax breaks for rich people as far as I know, and if he has, blame congress for passing such a bill onto him, not him for signing it.
America's army is a VOLUNTEER army composed of men and women who knew exactly what they might be getting into, knowing full well that they may very well die. And simply saying it is needless to do this is ignorant. We took out a violent dictator who killed his own people and we set up a democratic government, in which the people actually have a say in what happens, girls can finally go to school, and you are free to follow the religion you want.
While we may be in absolutely massive debt, our financing IS taking a turn for the better, in that our debt is reducing and we are starting to pay it off.

Alcohol....I think that maybe you are referring to senator Edward Kennedy from Massachusetts, but he is a demoncrat. Oh yeah maybe you should look at the voting records for the demoncratic senators as many of them voted to go to Iraq. It has been my pleasure to point out your ignorance.

No, and it was not needless. I ask the soldiers what they think...and they do not think it was needless.
Oh, and what tax breaks?
I'm not a Republican, but I don't protest the war, I support our military, and I have only small issues with our President.

they would have to care and we all know republicans have no heart.
and as for "shut up dummy" If it is a volunteer army then why are they sent to prison if they choose to walk away from the army. Do you get sent to prison if you walk away from the red cross if you volunteer for them?
