I agree with you. He was like a little kid at heart and had this wide-eyed innocence about every new experience.
He always made me smile even though I would always think to myself, man, you are CRAZY for doing that!!!
May he rest in peace.

Yes. Steve Irwin was a remarkable man. He was and will always be the Crocodile Hunter. Who doesn't love the Crocodile Hunter. Sure he was a tad bit crazy but he was much more than just a mere alligator wrestler or snake wrangler. He was a man who dedicated his life to educating the world on animals. I have been a bit down all day because not only was he world icon in the animal kingdom but he was also a loving husband and father. I will always remember him for his smile and his enthusiam. I will be praying for his family and friends. Steve. Rest in peace mate. Peace and God bless.

I always was fond of him too. He did such a wonderful work bringing conservation efforts into the forefront of peoples minds
Because he was on TV every week talking about these UGGHH! creatures were endangered and how people were destroying their homes(habitats)
He will be so missed by so many people around the world - but no more so than by his family. I feel so terrible for his wife and kids and wish I could do something to make their pain better.

I agree with your statement.
As to will we miss him? Ofcourse - i don't think anyone will replace steve - no one is able to. Even if you don't really follow his shows or have an active interest in animals - everyone will miss the person that he was and the joy that he brought to so many kids & families.
Some said that his wild and fun-loving personality was a put on or fake.......but all you had to do was to look at the way he treated every person he came in contact with......he was always like that....always genuine.....always himself. I honestly hope that Terri & his children get through this. I couldn't imagine how hard it would be for Terri to lose the love of her life. Best wishes to them all.

I grew up watching him, me and my mom would be like "crickey!" all the time. He did so much for the environment. All in all, he was a great guy, who didn't deserve to die. But he did play games with death many times. I'm having mixed feelings, like "wow, I just can't believe he's gone! is this for real?". I really do miss him. I cried a little. I feel so bad for his family. I just hope Terri and their kids will grow up to help the environment as well(on a less dangerous approach). RIP Steve, you'll be missed.

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Yeah. He was a great educational icon. And really cared for what he did. Never met him in real life but you could just tell. There was almost no hesistation in how he would risk his life to save animals. Just one of those situations where you had to wish you could just explain that to them... (The animals that is. )

Your right he was, I think it's sad people have that people have to defend this mans name, Because sad heartless people chose to make fun of his death or chose to be inconciderate, At least you can take comfort in knowing many people love him and miss him aswell..
thoughts and prayers for his family xxx
