The suicide rate in america is higher than the homicide rate. FACT. But it seems you can not use this on your debate. So probably why people kill and the types of killers thier are. From why people kill(chemical imbalance not diagnosed and manifests to a schitzophrenic state and some people who murder really don't know they did the act) to those who really just don't care and will kill just to put money in thier pockets. From contract killers to a local cornerstore robbery that just went bad. The motives behind each is different depending on the individual. It can range from a serial killer that psycologists are still trying to fully comprehend why they do these acts to people who just don't care because life just gave them mentalities like that. It all depends on the type of killer and murder.

Julie ,my baby sister was murdered and then burn in a mobile home of her boyfriends mothers ,she has 3 living children ,and she was pregnant with a boy 5 and half months along .her murder still has not been taken care of they know who did it but we cant get them or others to talk ,there was 3 ,my sissy walkedin caught her boyfriend kissing another girl in a bar and her the lovers brother was there ,and my sis pushed her and from that she was killed after ,how for sure we dont know all except a massive blow to head and jaw all busted up .we thank girl killed her or hurt her so bad the other 2 burned the home .so drunking ,love ,hate ,all played a role in her death .my sissy was beautiful ,and pegenant she was kind to everyone a swet heart she was only 28 ,our lives are still a desaster!!her 3 boys hurt daily and forever will no judgeist !!my oldest brother was given a killer amount of morphine by his wife soon after my sister was killed maybe 2 years and she is free as well !!the reason she gave was he had a headache and she didnt know how to mix it ,,we all suffer because my mother died in my arms this past sept.age 62 so in almost 5 years that is my loss .I dont understand how someone could live with there self after murder ,My oppion are alot drugs ,drinking ,and really some people look at life as just a number I think we have alot of people that can kill and think nothing of it cruel ,no heart full of satan .also look how many gets by with it here I just gave you 4 people that are walking our area free ,so this dont set a good image for our good people ,we are not a rich family dont have the money to make a movie or have a big tv show about my sissy if so maybe the law system would not just give up and let her records just lay on there desk getting dusty .and killers walking free .I and family have spend all we can to just keep it in paper every couple months ,that even takes money ,placing her pictures takes money we have done that .so Im sorry but I blame alot on our laws and our system because the one we did get in jail a year ammitted on tape setting the fire but the judge would not allow it to be heard in front of jury pannel ,he said because his lawyer was not there when he ammitted it to a fire marshall and a state trooper .he still didnt allow it to be heard if we could have gotten him in jail again the whole truth may would have came out he now can never be tried again for burning my sissy .ok I know I have given you alot but couldnt help myself sometimes you just want others to know .good luck in your research.i will be praying it goes well .

While animals kill for survival, humans murder for fun and vengeance etc. Even with competing animals such as bears etc. fights for dominance will be more a show of strength than fight to the death.
