Touring - Large bikes normally with a nice comfy driver/ passenger's seat, trunk, radio system. Bikes have a suspension for a smooth ride. A traveling bike with all the comforts of a car!

Cruiser- You can take these bikes on long distances, but they're not as comfortable. Suspension is normally lacking. Mainly meant for local driving. Normally doesn't have a radio and seats have no back rest ect... Normally lots O chrome!

Sports bike. Meant for speed and tricks.. like crotch rockets.

Touring bikes are usually the large dresser types like the big Harley's, BMW's,Honda's & Kawasaki's with windscreen and luggage. They are meant to go far with comfort.

Cruisers are these jockies that make a lot of noise and ride in the large packs around on the weekends. They are meant to go fast for short distances and give everyone a good looking over.

Sport bikes may be considered the cafe racers of yesteryear. They race from stop light to stoplight or from beer joint to pub, Most ahve half farings and go really fast, but usually only seat the driver while the other types are made for two up riding.

Sport bikes are built for agressive riding, with plastic fairings for streamlining, (usually) a leaned-forward riding posture that puts your feet under you, and light, high powered engines. Prime example: Suzuki GSX-R.

Cruisers have old fashioned styling, lots of chrome, and a riding position that puts your feet out in front of you. Prime example: Harley Softail.

Touring bikes are designed for long distance riding. They have lots of storage compartments, windshields and fairings designed to protect the rider from wind (and rain, once it's moving at highway speeds), and a riding posture in between that of a cruised and a sport bike. Prime example: Honda Goldwing.

Similar to the differences found between the old "Touring car" and a "Sports car".
The newer generation will "cruise the strip" and therefor need thier own style.
