Move to Safety while you work on becoming faster. If you're not fast enough to cover but have great football smarts, you would be better there. Being a cover corner is all about being able run very fast, all day long. Speed and Stamina are the 2 biggest assets of a corner. However, safeties do not have to be as fast.

Practice, practice, practice. Besides that, watch lots of footage of cornerbacks. Watch everything, High School, College and even the Pros to see how they are doing what they do.
I would also suggest signing up for Football camps if you can. They have good instructors that know how to teach positions. (getting signed up for a Pro's Camp is great, as an actual NFL pro will teach at the camp)
Check the Internet for videos on how to things for football. And most important, ask your high school coaches! They aren't pro's, but a vast majority of them have played before and do know what they are talking about. Ask a coach for advise, ask him how you can improve both in practice and in games.

if you cant tackle people bigger than you than forget being a cb. but if you can, then all you need to do is be able to harass the wr early so his route and timing with the qb is poor, and be able to read the footworks and eyes of the wr. If you can predict the next step of the wr, then be sure to stay as close as you can to the running wr but not so close that he can run straight towards you and get open in the endzone

Hi. I sure hope somebody comes along to give you a good answer. I am a girl so I don't know anything about football. But I just wanted to say that what ever it takes, I hope you go for it. I bet you are an amazing guy. I believe in you. You do the same. Ok?

Seems somewhat obvious.. you start running more too. If you want a challenge, try with weights on your legs. They can get annoying, mine kept slipping off.I basically use them for holding my feet down while doing my crunches.

Its all about speed. Ask the coaches for exercies to help your quickness. You need to be able to accelerate and change direction FAST.
